As we come to a close on this last eventful year and reflect on another decade ending, we can’t help but look back and feel thankful for what this past year has brought to White Table and the White Table team. It was a year of growth and excitement. It was a year of changes and additions. As a team, thinking about this new year ahead we have all agreed, it is leaving us feeling excited with anticipation and hope for another great year with many new goals to achieve and wonderful events to be apart of. We can’t wait!
We also know, New Year’s seems to just creep up after the Christmas rush of holiday parties and activities. Sometimes you want to host something but it seems so daunting after you have just finished cleaning everything up and settling down from hosting Christmas dinner. Here are a few tips and ideas to help get you over the hump so you can host a small gathering for New Years without feeling overwhelmed and like you want to spend new years in hiding.
1. Have a signature cocktail or champagne available for guests upon arrival as a welcome drink. This will put something in their hands right away and take the pressure off of having all the food ready to go right away.
2. Choose some menu items that can be prepared ahead of time and that don’t need to be heated. Charcuterie Boards are perfect for this. Our cob salad bites are also a hit and a super-easy item to prepare and have trayed ahead of time.
3. Flatbread for the win! This Prosciutto-Fig Flatbread is a crowd pleaser and still festive feeling. It’s one of our client’s favourites and ours too!
Wishing you a wonderful new year ahead!
Cheers to 2020!
