Something worth noting about the wedding planning industry: the people who plan the best events rarely get to sit down and enjoy one.
WedLearn’s Fraser Valley gathering changed that, at least for a morning. White Table had the pleasure of hosting a group of local wedding planners — the behind-the-scenes force behind some of BC’s most beautiful weddings — for a lunch and learn at the Fairway Room & Events. Two rounds of drinks, a proper brunch, Bebop Bakeshop cookies, and a panel that felt more like a conversation than a pitch.
Here’s how the morning unfolded.
THE WELCOME
Guests arrived upstairs in the event space in full golf attire — which, for the record, was entirely the right call — and were welcomed to cold-pressed green juice (FORE health, naturally). Both. The kind of arrival that makes it clear this is not a box-lunch situation. After a tour of the venue space, everyone moved downstairs to the restaurant.
THE TABLE
A second round of drinks landed as guests settled in, and brunch was served — FORE the love of food. First the bar poured everyone a Sunrise Mimosa and guests were offered a choice of either Green Jacket Toast, Smoked Salmon Rösti or Eggs Benedict.
And of course we had to end on a sweet note; Beignets to Share — champagne glaze, citrus ganache dipping sauces & coffee to follow upstairs. The beignets were a moment. Warm, shareable, the kind of course that keeps people at the table longer than they planned. Cookies from Bebop Bakeshop rounded out the take home treats — FORE the Road.
THE PANEL
Coffee in hand, the group moved back upstairs for a conversation on the White Table Difference — how we approach events, what it looks like to have a dedicated event specialist from first call to final course, and what planners can actually expect when they bring a client to us. These are people who’ve worked with enough caterers to know what questions to ask. We were glad to answer them.
